Embryology Staff
Embryology is a science practiced by many, but perfected by few. At USC Fertility, our patients have benefited from the vast experience and capabilities of our embryology team. They contribute to both the ever-increasing USC Fertility success rates as well as to the pioneering research studies conducted at USC Fertility such as the breakthrough egg freezing successes of the program.
Mary Francis, BA, TS/ELD
- Laboratory Director
Mary has been the Laboratory Director since 1988. She oversees all aspects of the embryology and andrology laboratories, coordinates PGD cycles, and manages day-to-day operations. She is a nationally-recognized authority in the field of embryology, and acts as an inspector for the CAP/SART Laboratory Accreditation Program.
Michelle Scrooc, RD
- Senior Embryologist
Michelle first started at USC in 1987. After a prolonged absence, she re-joined the program in 2002. She is an expert in all aspects of embryology and has particular expertise in micromanipulation.
Lorraine Paulson, MS
- Embryologist
Lorraine is a long-time member of the USC Fertility team. She is a highly-trained embryologist performing both andrology and embryology procedures at USC Fertility.
