USC Fertility's Dr. Karine Chung Participates in Y-Me's ShareRing Program Reproductive Endocrinologist To Be Featured in February Teleconference LOS ANGELES (February 15, 2008) – On February 20, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, Dr. Karine Chung–one of three physician partners at USC Fertility, the not-for-profit fertility practice of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles–will be the guest expert during a teleconference presented by the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, a group whose mission is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. The presentation, titled "Fertility After Breast Cancer" and sponsored in partnership between the Young Survival Coalition and Fertile Hope, is part of Y-Me's ShareRing Network Program, which hosts a free one-hour teleconference featuring a breast cancer-related presentation by a medical professional every third Wednesday monthly. The event is followed by a question and answer session, and participants are divided into small groups for discussions moderated by peer counselors. During the February teleconference, Dr. Chung will discuss the impact that cancer treatment may have on a woman's fertility. She will address post-treatment options that may be used to protect future fertility and achieve pregnancy. Dr. Chung will also answer questions about the
safety of having a child, and discuss the tests that assess fertility after treatment. | |||||
